A Turkish-flagged ship called Alcatras experienced failure and was bogged down near Greece’s Kos island as it was sailing from Istanbul to Antalya, according to the captain’s statement.
Alcatras bears the characteristics of a fishing vessel, but apparently has no fishing gear installed.
The anti-air gun, which has the distinct shape of Aselsan’s Korkit AA gun was apparently covered and placed on the deck of the ship, as it can be seen in the photo.
Korkut consists of one command and control vehicle with a 3D search radar (see white square on photo) and 3 gun vehicles, each fitted with a twin Oerlikon GDF-002 35mm air defense gun and a fire control radar. The twin guns are Oerlikon GDF-002 units produced under license by MKEK.
